Presidents Day, also called Washington’s Birthday and Presidents’ Day, is a federal vacation in the US that honors all former presidents. It was established in 1885 in honor of George Washington, the primary president of the US. The vacation is well known on the third Monday of February, which in 2025 falls on February seventeenth.
The vacation is usually seen as a time to mirror on the contributions of previous presidents and the significance of the presidency. Additionally it is a time to have a good time the values of democracy and freedom that the US was based on.
