The Lantern Competition, often known as Shangyuan Competition, is a conventional Chinese language competition celebrated on the fifteenth day of the primary lunar month, marking the top of the Chinese language New 12 months celebrations. In 2025, the Lantern Competition will fall on February fifth.
The Lantern Competition is a time for households and pals to return collectively and have fun. Individuals grasp lanterns of their houses and temples, and there are sometimes parades and fireworks shows. The competition can also be a time to eat conventional Chinese language meals, corresponding to yuanxiao (glutinous rice balls) and tangyuan (candy dumplings).
